Zzzz
Flickr snaps never stop to amaze me. Itslate into the night. And just because no one is around at home doesn’t mean you can go on for ever.
The first time I was exposed to photos were at Webshots. But I lost interest once it turned from a free site into a pay site. And ever since I came across FlickR ther was no turning back. So when Yahoo took over I had the same fears but luckily FlickR maintained its look and feel and there was no changes in the website or its functioning. I would hate to see it go …Yahoo fellas please keep your hands off FlickR.
I have to mention the third party offshoots using the FlickR API. Scores of them are available. Two of them that I came across recently were: SlickR and Spell
SlickR is basically a screensaver. It downloads photos form the interesting category and uses OpenGL to move the phto around. You must leave the PC connected to the net at alltimes for this to work. Secondly keep a note on the SlickR collection or the collection may go out of hand in terms of space!!
Spell is another superb application. Enter a name and it grabs an image for each letter, speeling out the entire word in pictures. The javascript badge and the rss feed for this are available. One use I can thing straightway is one can use it to display the website name and keep the displayed pictures dynamic. Cool, eh!
I am yawning like the baby in the picture. pardon my typos …I will correct them at a latter. I need to hit the bed.
Goodnight.
